Actually Tews that is an early K1 model. Honda started the change over in models in the fall around September. So a 10/70 would be an early K1 model.

The 1970 model I just bought was built 7/70, frame number 1044665. Engine number 1045089.

Can some of you K0 gurus shed some light on this?

Stev-o, you have the 6th K1 frame made! Does this mean your engine is a K0? Sweet!

Sorry, I totally forgot last night. Here it is.

As you can see, the paint on the tank is whitish, and its cracked pretty terribly, but it's good enough for me.

In looking at the pic of the tank I see writing about "the road map" something. I wonder if he intended for the paint to look like a road map? Just a thought...

Man I wood try to run that tank..looks cool..
Metalflake Corp, made a paint like that in the 70's..think it was called Vreeble...

Around here you see a lot of old latches, I refused to get mine done.. in some places service managers may have "pushed" getting them done to boost up warranty work..

Better picture of what's written on there.

I definitely want to run the tank, and I absolutely want to keep the color, but the cracking kind of has me worried about rust, although I can't be sure it's not clear coated like that, I'll look at that a little closer.

And how about that, Vreeble does seem to be a very good possibility. If it's clear coated over, I'll know it's intentional! The guy that had this bike before the guy I bought it from is one cool dude apparently. He was the original owner of the bike, and the guy I bought it from didn't even touch the bike (or ride it for that matter).

Now, if it's NOT clear coated, I guess I could clear coat it, or repaint in the same color. It also has red pin stripes and the same (ish, given age) color side covers and chain guard. I absolutely love the color scheme.

I agree...I think the cracking was intentional. Real 70's look man. Keep it...definitely will open up some conversations.
