Which master cylinder for drag bars?
« on: June 24, 2012, 05:00:58 AM »
Am currently installing drag bars on my '75 750. Running into the same problems as others with clearance issues with the MC. Just need to know if anyone definitively figured out which MC on which bike is short enough to fit good? Found a good
deal on eBay for some risers. Is that the only route?

Thanks for any help.

I ran drag bars without MC problems. Stock MC can be shotrened a tad. run a straight AN fitting out of the M/C..less cleance problems.

Schrodt,

I too have been having this problem on and off for a while now with my CB400F. I tried drag bars, couldn't get the MC to fit, tried bending them, then eventually went to clip-ons and am having a different issue now.

I think I'm going to have to give up on the stock MC eventually. I like the look of the AP Racing classic MC, but it's pricey and doesn't have a mount for a mirror (needed as my bike is for the street).

I've heard of guys using all kinds of MC's. I considered a using one of a Buell Blast at one stage, but like the stock look too much.

If I had of been able to find the 90 degree adapter, I think the drag bars may have worked. Perhaps you can find one?

The following page, still trying to work it out.

There's probably more photos of my trials and tribulations, but you'll have to read through and find it.

Report back what you end up doing.

Rick.
