I'm not involved.

As said......I've met Warren and he's an ok dude.

I consider Dave a great friend.

Here's a story for you..............

About 2 years ago I bought a Kawasaki Z250 for one of the kids.

It was for him to commute back and forth to the train station at Loganlea.

Not a great area of Brisbane but hey it was a 1981 250 cc bike. Who wants to mess with a 30 yr old small displacement bike?

Well I guess people will screw with anything because someone made off with it.

It was stolen at approximately 11 pm and recovered by 3:30 am.

Obviously the police were notified. They were explicitly told by ME, CALL IF YOU RECOVER IT. I will bring my ute and haul it home.

So a day later I get called by the towing and storage company to come get my bike out of their lot.

No call from the police no nothing. They just call the tow company and it immediately costs you $250

The storage and towage was $70. The above $250 is just the processing and governmental fees

So basically if your bike gets nicked......the police are fukwits.

They found the bike 4 hrs after it went missing and I've never heard a thing from them.

Only cost about $1500 with fees, repairs, paint, two new side cover..........

I had a similar thing happen to me.It was around 1980. I was living in Colton, Ca. I had a 1978 Suzuki GS750E. One night my roommate wakes me and says there are cops out side shining flashlights on you bike in the parking lot. I park it with about 6 other bikes from the apartment complex. A few minutes later I get a knock on the door and I answer it to find 2 officers asking to speak to me. They ask me if I own a GS750. I tell them yes I do. They ask if I know where it is. I say yes it's right out in the parking lot. They say no it isn't we just recovered it about 20 miles away. Would you like to go and recover it or have it impound and pick it up later. Knowing it would cost me, as a victim, money to get it out of impound I said I would go then and recover it from the scene. When I got there I asked what the story was and they said an officer was parked on the side of the road talking with some woman and 3 ni**ers (not my words) road by on it and the cops gave chase for having 3 people on it, at 1am that seemed suspicious to them. The riders ran down a deadened road that had a barricade of 3' tall posts separated by 3' and rode through the gap and dumped the bike in the dirt field and ran off. I jokingly asked it they had shot any of them. His reply was "I couldn't get a good shot, so no, he hadn't shot any of them. The bike had a small ding in the top of the tank where one of them was riding, a scratch in the side of the tank from when they dumped it and a screwdrivered ignition switch, but I was glad to have recovered my bike so quickly.

Geez, it's a pity the cops didn't shoot them mate, that'd be three less bike thieves to worry about....... ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

HEY GUYS,old thread I know,i got a phone call last night that Danny died last Tuesday,it was from his niece who said she was going through his phone ringing everyone in the list to let them know, ive never met any of his family but he lived in a little flat at the rear of his sisters place on acreage,he was a funny old little fella gentle and friendly,he spent years on trawlers,he bought a cb500 new, still has it as when he went to trade it on a z1 back in the day it was worthless so he kept it and bought a cb750,me and a mate are taking next Thursday off work to attend his service close to his place,he was always good to me and welcomed us all if we turned up at his place with a few fellas,i first met him when I had some carbs for sale he wanted,he came to my place and we got talking and since then ive bought a fair bit of stuff of him,a rolling frame in a rebuild thread here and lots of other parts,he could never get his phone right and never used the internet so I used to just turn up,he told me some funny old tales of his youth and motorcycles etc,oh well we all end up there one day theres no other way out,its how you treat others and the give n take thing in my eye fair n square.

That's a shame Dave, but you're right, we're only temporary humans, RIP Danny, I hope we meet on the other side, but not for awhile...........

Yeah so Danny was laid to rest today,me and a mate braved the drizzle to ride over Tambourine mountain to his service,a little old cemetery on school road Logan reserve, the rain held off during the service thankfully but we had a wet ride home,no big deal just took it easy, the family asked us back to the wake but we declined on account of the weather and distance we had to ride,oh well,we all gonna be there one day?

he was a funny old bloke,i remember trying to get a gearbox back into his misty ute with him,he pulled it out for a clutch but needed help to get it back in,im under the car and hes in the cab with a rope around the box through the gear stick hole lifting up,the box was full of oil and it pissed all over my shorts badly!i didn't want to sit in my car with those shorts so Danny got me a big piece of rag to wrap around myself with my shorts in the boot,i was worried if cops pulled me up for what ever reason my private parts were soaked in stinking gear oil and my shorts in the boot!

I remember spending a day or two with a mate helping him rebuild the box out of his 54 dodge and putting it back in the car
It went back in 3 times , came out 3 times, got pulled apart and put back together 3 times and it just wouldn't feckin work
Until one of the boys girlfriends asked " are you doing up all the bolts properly".....
So that last time Denis actually bolted the bell housing up to the motor properly and.... It worked
Serves us right for sitting in the gutter drinking beer not taking much notice of what he was actually doing
The up side was that the beer mobile was back on the road
i blame Terry
