Hello all
I have been reading a number of the posts and topics lately on here, namely the cafe racer builds, since then I have been infected with a disease that has made me turn my garage into a mancave and I have been readying it for the arrival of my Honda CB550 F2 1977 Supersport "Barn Find"
Despite it looking like a bag of #$%*e on a really bad day, I'm in love with it already, yes, even the 5mm thick rust on the headers and yes, even the seized up carbs!
I currently own a Yamaha XJR 1300 SP 1999 in limited edition race colours. This will be my 2nd Honda (1st was a Honda twin shock XL some 12 years ago)
My objective is not to rush, though I find that hard being an impatient b@stard, I hope to finish this in 12 months.
I joined this forum for two reasons a) the help and advice given on here appeared to me to be nothing more than brilliant. b) I used to be a plant mechanic but never stripped a bike down completely, so, I'm good with tools, I know my left handed screwdriver from my right one
but I'd like some help on the way, your contribution in the form of advice and guidance will help produce a "great bike" rather than a "good bike"
