In the beginning, Dad made me a mini-bike out of a Victa lawnmower engine and a pair of wheels pinched from his old go-kart. That was pretty close to 45 years ago. Since then I've owned or ridden a '48 side-valve BSA 500 (rigid tail, girder forks) as a bush basher. That taught me a lot about how to keep a bike running when all you have available is a stone axe. Then a "slightly" secondhand '69 DT1, followed by an XL250, my first registered bike, a '73 RD350 which is one of my current project bikes. YZ250 for motocross back when my bones weren't so brittle. IT250, IT400, IT425, IT465 for enduros in the mid '80s. Loved that 465. Won a few events, but pretty much dropped out of bikes when I discovered girls at 19. Bought a '73 Rickman CR750 and rebuilt it from the ground up. The Rickman project saw me obtain a heap of SOHC4 parts along with a CB750 that had been hacked into a bobber. Then an 82 SR500 with the intent of building a cafe bike. In December 2010 an on-coming car decided to turn in front of me. I parked the Rickman in the passenger side door.

Now it's time to see what can be done to get Rick back on the road.

Current bikes -
'73 RD350 cafe project underway
'82 SR500 barely begun cafe project
'82 CB900 will be my main ride for a while
'73 Rickman CR750 currently a little bent
'72 CB750 a long term project as yet unstarted
'08 CB400 wifes ride

(sorry! Can't post links to pics on my web site)

Welcome! One more post and you will be allowed to post a link. I fear it's going to take much more than a stone axe to properly repair a bent Rickman frame. :(
Don't fix it if it ain't broke!

Good God, man! The Rickman pictures were gruesome, but not as bad as the pictures of the rider. :o :o :o Glad you're still around to tell the tale....

A couple of broken arms, but (mostly) good now.
