Hang with a CB750 for most of a quarter.  Light, fast, fun!

Near me one that nice is going for 3000 to 4000....

But my area may be skewed.

It has half the cylinders and twice the cams that I need. I think they failed their 3rd grade math test.

Good looking bike. However, I would not buy a 450 again. I had a brand new one back in 1974 and the vibration at high speeds was so bad my hands would go to sleep. Did not take me long to trade it in for a CB750.

Back in HS a friend had one of these. I think in was a 1971 CB450. Nice bike and it would run. Not until another guy got a Kaw 400 triple 2 stroke was there anything faster from stop light to stop light. But the Honda was a much better all around bike ;D I ran across a 1970 CB450 a while back that needed a lot of work, so I didn't get it.

I have owned at least 10 and worked on 100's-they are great bikes, ample power but as stated they do vibrate a bit.  Not the easiest of bikes  as far as valve adjustment but with regular maintenance they will run forever...Larry

He's looking to swap so I've offered him some vintage tube type hi-fi gear, (my other hobby) a couple of nice old Garnet and Harmony tube guitar amps  and/or my 14' 1974 Anchor boat with 40hp Johnson motor. Great name for a boat eh?

What is your boat worth?  Seems like a fair deal.  FWIW, even though the seat looks pristine there is something wrong with it-the front part is too bulbous.  Looks like a recover that was not perfectly done...Larry

My Dad has a '74 that he bought new. It is still in great condition, and is the bike he used to take me for rides on when I was a kid. He told me that he liked both the red and the orange paint that were offered, but got the orange one since it was what was on the showroom floor at the time. Next time I go to MI to visit, I think I will have to take some pictures of it.

I had a 70 w/disc brake.  No problems running with the 650 Brit bikes of that time.
