Mike,

How do these MLS gaskets work with the notoriously leaky oil passages?
Do these still use an o-ring and if so, do they come with them?
All oil fed orings are used Jim. The MLS is more stable than a composite gasket so leaking shouldn't be a problem. On the other hand...the surfaces have to be flat and smooth. On the 550 i think the best solution is the external oiling mod. I am building a 550 engine now and it has this.

On my race engine I built up an area of weld on the back side of the gallery, then drilled & tapped for a fitting. I wanted more protection in case of a right side crash.

FJ, initally i took the pressure from the main gallery plug  under the points cover, easiest to do IMO.

another easy option is from the oil pressure switch at the oil pump.

and yes, not worrying about the annoying oil leaks at the head is nice :)
