Center stand stop

What was used to stop the center stand from hitting the rear brake assembly and the chain on a 77 cb750? I cut the tubes  that held the rear passenger foot pegs off. Did that have something to do with it?
Currently working on a 1977 CB750K

From my experience on a 78K 750, it was the mufflers.  Found that out when I took them off and the chain ground a groove into one of the pads on the stand.  Unless you use an exhaust similar to the stock exhaust, you will have to fab something to stop it from making contact with your chain.

I just welded mine back on, from a brilliant PO that cut them off.

I just cut mine off because the restoration/customization I'm doing renders them unneeded, additional dead weight, not in sync with the bike's new theme, unsightly...

Different strokes for different folks.

afkrejci90 is right

It was the muffler that was the stop. If you search centerstand in the google custom search some ideas come up

Most add some tab or something(nut/bolt affair, some 1/8" or so metal tab) that the centerstand contacts. If it's not too beefy of a mount just don't let it slam upwards too hard

the 4 into 4 exhaust had a bumper on them.
i just went out and snapped this picture.
$6 in parts from home depot.
rubber stopper
bolt/lock nut drilled and mounted through its center.
some odd concrete foundation bracket...
VHT paint.
if you dont have the passenger pegs,  you'll have to fab a stop off the rear brake hub stabilizer shaft or off the pivot of the center stand itself
just do a search for center stand stop.  lots of ideas and pictures.
