1234. Could possibly be coil but they rarely fail. Did you check for spark?
And when was the last full tune up?

Thanks for the answer, the wires we in the correct order. As far as I know this was the first time since1985 that it was running.I got the frame and motor and a bunch of boxes of parts and have been doing the bike puzzle since april. The old spedo read about 11,xxx,so im not sure of the real milage. The new speedo says 1,4xx.Alot of the parts were from my uncles bike he bought new.He was going to put it all together yrs ago but never did.Gave me everything and its been a long time coming together. The frame and engine are from a 75 but most of the parts are 74.He bought the frame and engine at a swap meet in 87.Was fun to see all the lights come on after all the yrs.The same goes for hearing it run.The seat side covers tank and pipes are from his bike from way back when, the parts are stuff he collected in the 80s and early 90s.I think about 3-4 in total. Will get plugs this week and go from ther

Sounds like a good project. Check/clean the connections going to the coil, could be loose or not getting a good connection. One coil is for the #2&3 cylinders, the other for #1&4.

Good luck
