Gas Leak '70 CB350 Scrambler
« on: August 08, 2012, 04:01:50 PM »
My left carb just started pouring gas out of the overflow tube on the bottom of the bowl.

I've tapped it and practically beat it with the screwdriver handle to no avail.

I stops after it has run for a minute or so. But sitting it actually pours a steady stream.

(I did a search but couldn't find this anywhere)

Any help will be greatly appreciated

Woody,
Did you try checking your carb. drain screws? drain out the contents of each bowl into a small, shallow glass cup and see what comes out w/ the fuel, also check the sediment bowl on the petcock/fuel shutoff valve.
I think you may have a tankful of rust and sediment that needs to be cleared out and then have the fuel tank professionally lined to cover over any remaining rust.

The other items you might check are:a worn out float needle & seat or a float that is weighed down w/ excess fuel;either of those will require replacing the parts.
75' CB400F/'bunch o' parts' & 81' CB125S modded to a 'CB200S'
I love the small ones too !
Do your BEST...nobody can take that away from you.
