Tonight Show lays of employees
« on: August 19, 2012, 09:52:23 AM »
Nothing against Jay Leno and he's got one of the larger collection big money cars and bikes, but he is no Johnny Carson. I haven't watched much of the show since 1992 when Carson left the show. Now the show is behind in the ratings and NBC is letting people go. And Leno is going to have to take a $10mill paycut. That's right boys and girls $10,000,000 :o :o :o :o :o But will still make $20 million or so from the show a year. I guess the Leno household is going to have to cut back a little bit and start shopping at Walmart and clipping coupons. Hahaha ::) ::)

As I read it, Leno offered to take the pay cut, though I think he should of offered to take a $20 mil cut.

I worked at the Tonight Show and still have many friends there. Jay is a great boss and the fact that he took a cut at all when most guys in his position wouldn't further proves this.  I'm waiting to make some calls once the time difference isn't so early out there.

Jay also makes good money from his speaking/comedy engagements, he took the cut so there would be more people lose their jobs. Comcast can be part to blame for this move. If you've never met Jay you should, he is a great guy and very personable. Not at all snobish like some celebrities. Jay is one of the good guys in my book!
