RIDE RECAP

Everyone who attended survived the MIDNIGHT COLLIDE , which was a plus.
MKRAMER ended up having some fuel related issues, and by the time he got them sorted the ride was gone, but he made it home
safely (all that matters). Me and my triumph buddy were the last two in the pack for awhile , but after some "aggressive" riding , got back into the middle of the pack. We caught up with STEVEF after the ride ended, and cruised back home with him , and my buddy Steve on his VTX1800. All in all it was a good time, as I put about 130 miles on that little CB of mine with no issues, except I need to re-install a horn, turn signals, and do alittle re-sprocketing to get alittle more up top...

STEVEF --> Get me some pics of that exhaust, I need to find out who makes that damn thing !  ;D

Midnight K-Rash?? WTF!!!!, Thats enough to make me glad I rode a few miles with my uncle here this weekend instead of there. Someone K-rash into me?? See I hate Rocket riders thread.  8)

The ride went well (for most of us, sorry about MKRAMER's fuel prob) even as the weather was questionable at times with a light rain coming down about an hour before the ride kicked off.  The rain stopped, and we all left the starting point as one group.  I estimated there was about 800 to 1000 bikes entered, which was down from previous years!  There were some nice bikes in the show before the ride, really  nice "custom choppers" (if there really is such a thing), and a few vintage bikes.  Like I said before the weather was iffy but later on, the clouds broke and the moon came out.  You couldn't ask for better riding conditions, no wind, low humidity, NO RAIN, no bugs, light traffic and dry roads!  On the down side, while the cops and local ESDA's provided traffic control at major itersections, there were some that could be considered dangerous with traffic lights and no cops!  Everyone just breezed through the red lights anyway with some caution. :o  The destination this year was the Sundance Saloon in Waukeegan, Illinois.  I was under the impression that we would be riding to Mundeline, Illinois, and wasn't aware that Sundance moved some 30 miles away.  After over an hour of riding, I (we) didn't know where the hell we were when we arrived, and had to ask a local cop what towns were nearby...." Gurnee.....the Wisconsin border!"  Went inside the Sundance, and were a bit dismayed there was no food readily available.  If you didn't mind sitting at a table and ordering drinks (not for me, thankyou) and listening to country music, then the place was a good destination.  Otherwise, you were S.O.L.  We went back outside and talked about what we were gonna do next.  We decided to go find a gas station first and then find some place to eat.  Made it to a bar/restaruant about 10-15 miles south but changed our minds and ended up at a Denny's for breakfast.  Spent about an hour there eating and talking and enjoying each other's company.  Left Denny's and started heading home, I got home about 4:15 am, still buzzing from the coffee.  My bike ran super the whole time which added to the enjoyable evening.  Already looking forward to next year. Hope more of you can join us next time!
PS.  ProTeal55 (Joe), I'll try to get you some detailed pics of the pipe as soon as I get back from my trip.  Like I said, I don't know anything about the make of that thing, but maybe there are some identifiable oddities that you can see to determine what it is.

See you guys at the "next" ride!  ;D ;D  Maybe we can do the Starved Rock thing soon.

STEVEF--->
No rush on those pics. I still cant get over just how badass your bike sounded. I NEED that exhaust.
ELCHEAPO-------------------------------------------->
Their were no actually "KRASHES" as you put it on the ride, that I am aware of. I saw a few bikes on the side of the road, but I am guessing they were either having issues, or waiting for their buddies. Wiith the ride ending up near the border, you could of came down for the ride, met up with us, then just rode home from the end point. No hotel needed !!

Next year we need to get a larger group going, maybe get CBJUNKIE and the rest of the STL crew to attend....
