How many of you keep up with current events beyond the MSM?
« on: September 03, 2012, 06:56:46 PM »
And what did you find verses a bit of research?
We live in a strange world right now that includes the the abillity to look past what is force fed to us VS. the abillity to force feed ourselves with what comforts us.
Ask yourself what you are looking for to make yourself comfortable in this world and ask yourself what it is that you have to put up with that makes you uncomfortable?  Why do some of us inevitably come to the conclusion that it would be better to not have a certain element to slow us down and keep us from progressing when it's evident they will never progress?  Instead they just keep us down and kill us daily....think about it and do your own research!

Perhaps he has a different definition of your MSM.

This is what I know it means:

Methylsulfonylmethane - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MethylsulfonylmethaneStructure and ... · Use as a solvent · Effects on health · FDA enforcement action
Methylsulfonylmethane (MSM) is an organosulfur compound with the formula (CH 3) 2 SO 2. It is also known by several other names including DMSO 2, methyl sulfone, and...

I'll toss this in for sport, different, news groups, The Christian Science Monitor, BBC, The Straights Times, Australian Broadcasting Corp., The Norway Times, Duetsche Welle, and then news from Latin America, with a seasoning of Russian News. That should provide some sort of balance for "westerners" the only problem is that it takes time to cross reference the various stories, I think the best you can do is skim and get an impression or feeling of what's going on.

I just ignore the news. No news is good news.
'Then' and 'than' are completely different words and have completely different meanings. Same with 'of' and 'have'. Set and sit. There, their and they're. Draw and drawer. Could care less/couldn't care less. Bought/brought FFS.

I think I get it now....we need to get rid of a certain element.  The solution I propose is a hunting season on 1%ers......bag limits and length of season TBD.  Granted not all 1%ers are the problem so the hunt will be restricted to those that use their wealth and position to influence the political, business, tax policy, and judicial  process for their own personal gain, banksters, hedge fund managers, Wall Street types, vulture capitalists, etc.   In other words those that are the Bain of our existence.  ;)

Their ill gotten wealth will be confiscated to pay down the debt and rebuild our country's infrastructure.

But to answer that question now that I know what you are talking about - not me. I watch the 10pm news and what ever might pop up on this box. BUT, I don't know if computer news is MSM?

Jerry,Computer news is not msm but it does allow you to see local news stories world wide that are not covered up by the msm.
 Seek and you shall find.
As far as you being upset about grammar and spelling, you dont have to look any futher than my post when you would like to be upset regarding those topics.
But if you met me in person you would never know.
I made straight A's in grammer and literature as a kid in school but I didn't drink then.

By the way Starbucks and Facebook and tweeting and blogging are all things I find repulsive too.

But don't look at me, I am foreigner, I don't know English very well.

Main Stream Media has no interest in informing anyone.  Their purpose is to guide your decisions and opinions via entertainment.  The LAST thing they want is for the public to make their own decisions based on a large suite of factual data, particularly decisions that do not benefit their advertisers or their own popularity.  They know that most people will make decisions based on easily available data (provided by them), rather than hunt for all data from multiple indifferent sources.
This way, people are comfortable and happy with their decisions, even if they are guided.  And, happy consumers/taxpayers is key for continued control and empowerment.

Lots of research has gone into this type of manipulation of human behavior.  They have it down to a science/formula.  And, it works.

Keep the people fat, dumb, and happy.    <---(Key to staying in power/control).

But you guys are talking old news.... It's so much more effective on the web. Not only can they control the media but by logging your activity They can control what they think you need to see.

If you don't understand where I'm going with this have you noticed a trend to keep seeing adverts for stuff you may want? vs always seeing tampon or hair spray ads?
