My shirt arrived yesterday.  It took quite a while and I was starting to get worried. I guess it just got delayed at the border.

Because of an issue with Zazzle (their intellectual property department pulled our image because it has "Honda" on the gas tank - sheesh!  ::) ), the link is now different for the shirts.

Quite a few folks, myself included, have gotten theirs already - good stuff!

Trevor is still out of it.  He was supposed to go home in the care of his family yesterday (sounds a little early, still), but he has developed a bit of pneumonia and must stay until it clears.  It sounds like Trevor's folks are doing all they can while dealing with the frustrations of the home health support (or lack thereof) and the medical equipment vendors (sound difficult to deal with) who they rely on to enable them to care for him.

Hi Everyone!

Trevor is still in a coma. Yesterday he was moving his head a lot (like 4 times about 2 inches toward the right and adjusting sightly up and down). We were almost out the door before he spike 103 temp two days in a row and finally figured out he has pneumonia. He also as a yeast infection in his blood. Both of these infections are things that he is way more likely to get at the hospital then at home. So as long as Trevor is responding to the antibiotics then we get to take him home half way thru the antibiotic treatment. I'm thinking it'll be the end of the week.

The bed they delivered for Trevor was highly unacceptable. We love retro/vintage items and I have low expectations from Medicaid. Well this even surpassed my low expectations and it wasn't even comfortable/barely big enough for me. It was basically thick foam egg crate mattress topper. not an air mattress like we were told. His mom is taking care of that. Even if we have to purchase a bed and air mattress we will. those are non negotiable's for us. Thanks to all of the donations we are able to either a)rent one or b) purchase one.

Overall, he's doing real good. Still making little baby steps everyday toward waking up. His benefit was absolutely awesome. I was overwhelmed by just about everything. The space was at max capacity about an hour after 8 (when the event started) and was still at max capacity at midnight. Everyone is just so generous and sincerely cares about him. He's got awesome friends (including everyone on here) and the little rock community that we are involved in is tighter and sticks together more than I knew.

I just can't wait for him to get a little better and take him home. Even though it's not the place we call home, it's a new apartment that is better suited for his needs, I think he'll be more comfortable. We are working hard at recreating our little home in the new apartment.

All the support, positive thoughts, and prayers are helping Trevor. I just know it. All of that also helps me try to be the best girlfriend/nurse in training that I can be. I'm lucky to have him in my world. I have this weird since of calm about his recovery. I know it's going to take a long time but I'm confident we'll get back to the way things were. Just taking it day by day and we'll talk thru things as they come up. Maybe I'm naive or in denial, but his only option is a full recovery and I won't accept any less. I want this for us of course (selfishly) but for him to check off everything on his bucket list, like riding to Alaska and visiting all the national parks there or making it to at least base camp at Mt. Everest.

I'm going to give Ken a call know. Thanks for trying to help me track him down!

Thanks again for everything! As usual, let me know if you have any questions or if I missed anything. I really don't mind. :)

Back when I was a kid, a guy who lived up the road from us was a real hell raiser.  He got drunk one night and ended up going northbound on a southbound highway and collided with a car.  He laid in a bed in his parent's living room for what must have been the better part of a couple YEARS, no BS.  After all that, outside of some scars and walking with a limp because one leg ended up a few inches shorter, you never would have known any different if you saw him (oh, and other than the fact he was no longer a hell raiser).  I guess the moral of the story is that recovery can be lengthy and arduous and Trevor will need the support of you and others to pull through this.  You are in the thoughts and prayers of forum members as many have already mentioned.  Felicia, you have my utmost admiration and respect for the sacrifices you have no doubt made during Trevor's recovery.

My shirt arrived today. Glad I got my order in before 'Honda' was deleted. As I opened the packet I made a wish that Trevor might open his eyes for real as well.
Keep up the good work Felicia.

I'm sure Felicia is very busy with all thats going on right know while taking care of Trevor. I've heard that he's been moved out of the hospital and I believe Felicia is with him at an apartment. I don't think she would mind that i repost this, it's a recent facebook post from her regarding Trevor's condition:

"Please say an extra little prayer for Trevor. He pulled his peg tube out. It must be annoying. This is common with patients waking up apparently. It just has to be fixed at the hospital so we are sitting in the ER. On one hand I'm proud of him because I think this shows how far he's come but on the other hand I want to put him in a straight jacket so he can't hurt himself unintentionally. I'll give an update when we get the all clear (because I know that's what it'll be. There won't be any complications :) "

I thought I'd pass this along, since I know not everyone is a facebooker.  Trevor's mother posted the following last night:

"Trevor update. I thought it might help if I describe Trevor's condition a little. His primary injury is his head injury which left him in a coma after the accident. He also had a punctured bowel (about 30 stiches)and some slight fractures on his right femur, left eye socket, and lower back in addition to alot of road rash. All of the injuries except the brain injury have healed. The subdural hematoma was treated with surgery but the reason he is still in a coma state has to do with the shearing injury to his brain. That causes the "connectors" in your brain to stretch. Sometimes the connections reconnect and sometimes they move and make new connections. This type of injury takes alot of time to heal generally and it's hard to say what will come back on its own, what will make new pathways and what won't come back. We know that Trevor is healing steadily and have faith that he will make an amazing recovery. Coma recovery happens in stages and Trevor is at the minimally conscious level which means he opens his eyes spontaneously, has sleep/wake cycles, follows commands slowly and in-consistently, follows objects/people with his eyes, makes purposeful movements and reacts more specifically to what he sees and hears. The most commonly used coma scale (The Rancho Level of Cognitive Functioning) has eight levels. Trevor is somewhere between level three and four. Hopefully this will help explain what we mean by coma and will help everyone say some specific prayers for his healing. We need the shearing injury to heal and his reticular activating system to fully function (the area of the brain that controls the function of consciousness.) We're so thankful to everyone who is praying for and helping Trevor. I'll keep the updates coming. God Bless!"

Keeping Trevor and family in my thoughts and prayers this holiday weekend.   My best to all of you - I'm sure he'll pull through.

I had a buddy in high school who totaled his VW bug.  what was left of it you could about put into a suitcase.  he was in a coma for a number of months, then one day woke up and was as "normal" as he ever was.  :)

In the spring, maybe we can organize a weekend we all meet out there and visit him.  I am sure we can find a campground to accommodate us.

I am down for a ride. People can head out on like Wednesday, Thursday or Friday, small groups meet up along the way and make a bigger group in Little Rock. Everyone try to get there on a Friday evening and visit/ hangout on Saturday.  Head home on Sunday.

Or whatever.
