Topic: Tank rust - need a good inline filter as a temporary solution

Pulled my carbs off last night and found, among other things, that bowl #1 had a bunch of rust in it. I have a new petcock w/ filter AND an inline filter, so I thought I'd be okay. Wrong.

Looks like I'm going to have to deal with the rust in my tank. As y'all know, these F tanks are pricey - WHEN you can find 'em, even if they're in so/so shape. PO did a sh1t job of lining mine with Kreme, so I'll either have to remove the old liner & reline or look for a new tank (that may or may not need cleaning/painting/lining)...

In the meantime, it would seem that the crappy little plastic inline filter that I'm using isn't really filtering anything. So I'm looking for a better one. Suggestions?

Some of may be using the same thing, and like you, think it is working.

I like these because it's clear glass so you can see what's going on and the filter element is replaceable.

I had a paper element one for a while but it was too restrictive.  It was Ok for the top half of the tank but the bottom half it would not run right.
I like the looks of the one above.
But I use one of these, the 90 degree makes it easy to install on the 750F
