Need help from the fine folks here!
« on: September 24, 2012, 03:40:34 PM »
As you may or may not know I am currently rebuilding a cb360 1975. I know its not a SOHC, but was hoping after five SOHC builds I would have enough street cred to ask about this twin :) Anyway, the PO had horrendous ape hangers on this thing and the wiring was all screwed up. I ironed out the wiring after replacing 20 bullet connectors, but have no clue how to route the harness onto the frame. Do any of the fine members out there have a pic of the routing. All I think I would need is a side pick with the tank off, or better yet a link to the manual that shows the routing. Thanks all!

Step over to http://www.hondatwins.net/forum/.

You can get the shop manual there. It shows the harness routing.  :)

It is a SOHC.

Oh yeah, :) every bike I've done has been a four banger SOHC. Good, no worries then.

I do have one question. Are the control wires routed to the frame above the coils or do they all connect in the headlight bucket like the bigger bikes? It looks like they go to a clump of wires above the coils. Can anyone confirm this?

That all connect in the headlight bucket.

Really? I don't see how I can even get that part of the harness to the light.

Did you find the manual over at hondatwins?
Here's the illustration from the manual.

I do have that. Doesn't it look like the control wiring comes down and connects above the coils. The reason I ask is because the wires coming from the controls are about three feet long !!

That would be because of the ape hangers I presume.  Either way, the controls connect in the headlight.
