Well, what are the odds I could get you guys to overnight a complete "Good Set" to your teamate so I can finish putting this engine together tomorrow. I see major marks on one and faint marks on another. May as well replace them all. Will also need the middle tranny half moon if you've got one handy.

Dang it man. I got to play catch up now. My day has been spent doing family things. The grandneice turned 21. She came how from college this weekend so her mom put on a brunch in Columbia. It turned into a long event so i have not touched the motor. I'm going out now and will work til the sun comes up. I'll get something done- wrong or right.

Stay tuned- moving forward!!!!!!!

PS: Don't work Sam to hard getting that thing back in the chassis. Or... do like i do. Set the bike up on jack stands on the floor. Raise the from on a cinder block. Take the oil pan off. Cut a piece of board to match the bottom of the motor but where it will fit past the rear engine mount. Put your floor jack under it, remove all the engine bolts and raise it up. Now, get your ATV jack. Cut a piece of plywood with a notch that will allow it to fit in the frame rail. Bolt the board to the ATV jack so it doesn't move. Roll the ATV jack against the right side of the chassis. Now its time to jack up the floor jack to raise the motor high enough to clear the bottom rear mounts. Once its up high enough you can now slide the motor off the board on the floor jack onto the board on the ATV jack thats been elevated to the same level. Now roll the motor to the work bench, raise the ATV jack up and put the engine on the table. One person job from removal to installation. !!! Save Sam's back for the ladies- lol.

Well, the block is now on and the head is ready to go but i have to shut the shop down. Got to be up at 6:30am to start the day. Hope to get the motor done by tomorrow night.

Johno,

The oil returns work great. Due to the big sleeves cutting through oil passages, oil was leaking out of the block in a few places and had to be plugged so the oil returns were installed. No leaks now.

I'm enjoying building it- its been 10 years since i touched the motor because i really wasn't racing it much. Hopefully all will fall into palce and i'll have it ready to play with Sam and Bill at the Big race.

Frank, I assume it is popping out of second? Does it happen right away or at higher RPMs? I read something about a modified shift drum that was used from motor number E2304501 and up?

You know of anymore details on this Scottly?? I need to solve this problem soon.

I will never know how quick the bike is now because its not made a full pass without it popping out of gear. I may try to adjust the kill time on my air shifter and see if that helps. I may not be allowing it to unload long enough to shift the bike now.

The F trans should already have it?
Could be the back-cutting has made it more difficult to shift out of first, so adjusting the kill time may help? Post a picture of the air-shifter setup..
Also, were both the accel and decel sides of the dogs cut, or just the accel side?
