pilot jet options for a F3
« on: November 12, 2012, 10:31:00 PM »
Are there any options for the pilot jet on a stock F3.

All stock, good pipe, just seems lean. Freshly cleaned carbs after sitting for 10 yrs in a garage. First start up and is trying to blue the pipes after 1-2min running. Bike has 20k on it but looks like 2k. My buddy just recieved it from a  friend of his family, so a ton of sentimental value. He is a lifelong bike owner! Just his 1st SOHC Honda!!
He will be addicted and joining the forum soon as I hope this post will push him.  ;D
And to post a pic of course!

Try sirius in canada for different sizes, are they the "push in" jets?
Semi Geriatric ex-Honda mechanic and MOT tester (UK version of annual inspection). Garage full of "projects" mostly 500/4 from pre 73 (no road tax in UK).

I had the exact same issue but I had the MAC 4-1 pipe. I had replaced the stock 35 idle jets with new 35s and needed to back the adjustment screws out 3 turns to get it to work. Most guys on here I've seen say to go to 42 idle jets as these motors always run on the lean side. Sirius Canada does have all the sizes but they're like $25 for a set of the push in ones so next time I need to mess with my carbs I'll go with the larger size.
Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most.
