That 94 zx6 is pretty hot. I think the actual lesson here is don't sell it to someone as their first bike.

The wife wonders why I should care after I have the money, but I make the effort to ready a bike for the long haul and it's disappointing to see them trashed. And so consistently! 12 years ago, I would have given up a testicle for any one of those machines.

I can see where the effort and care is wasted, you're right it's a heartbreaker.

Can you buy them back cheap? One day they will be classics , and you could already be sitting on a pile of great parts.
Or sell classic Hondas to the same sort, and buy them back when they get wrecked. We could all use some parts , would almost be like selling the same one twice. May not take all the sting out of it, but  could fund more projects.
A few Honda 500's, a few Honda 550's, a few Honda 650's, '72 cb 450, a couple 500/550/650 hybrids, and 2001 750.
550 Snowbike -Somebody had to do it.

I didn't keep track of the buyers, but I would see the bikes on kijiji later all brutalised. The ZX could have been gathered up with a pail and a grain shovel.

Not much you can do after you sell it.  I remember selling my 70 CB450.  The kid gave me the money, I gave him the title.  With out so much as a minute warm up, he tore out of the driveway, hit the highway and I could hear him as he wound every last RPM out of each gear.  I felt like I sold the bike to a butcher.

Well if you'd stop putting Armorall on the tires Killer, people would stop crashing your bikes............... ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

That's just a vicious rumour started by my supplier!

I dropped my shiny new CB750F twice on my way home from work due to a greasy new back tire back in 1978 Killer, the first time I thought it was kind of funny (no damage) the second time, I slid under the back of a car and took about a pound of skin and meat offa my left buttcheek and so did my mate on the back. We'd stopped laughing by then.

I was still able to ride the bike home (the car driver drove my mate to the hospital) but when I arrived home I realised that the blood between my butt and the seat had congealed, and I had to tear the scab off to separate myself from the bike. Ouch.............

We both had to have another half a pound of gravel scrubbed from the remains of our butts by an unsympathetic nurse with a scrubbing brush, and we both had pressure dressings applied on a daily basis for a couple of weeks, by the same, unsympathetic nurse, who didn't understand the term "anaesthetic", because we didn't get any of that......  Oh well, one more story I can tell the grandkids one day.............. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

One guy I sold a CB400 Hawk to kept it on the road for 10+ years.
Never cleaned it though.

I only armorall a seat if I'm taking a hot babe for a ride on the back Killer, it may be dangerous on tires, but it does have it's uses........... ;D

I bought a Kenny Roberts edition red/white RZ350 new back in the 80's.  Sold it in perfect condition about two years later to kid as his first bike.  He came with his dad and for 500 more I offered them all my safety gear. 1 piece Bates leathers in red/white an Aria helmet gloves boots everything.  Dad said no   Two weeks later kid lays it down in shorts and a t shirt.

"Dad" needs a kick up the arse. I hope you told "Mom" that he'd refused to buy his boy some safety gear? If you did, it'd have been fun to be a fly on the wall at their house............. ;D

Yeah that would have been an 'interesting' conversation!  I only knew about the accident because they brought the bike back to Malcolm Smiths Yamaha in Riverside where I'd bought it originally.  I was in there getting some stuff for my YZ 250 and the sales guy told me about what had happened.  I loved that bike really wished I'd sold it someone with a brain.
