'75 Honda CB550 wiring harness
« on: November 28, 2012, 04:35:10 PM »
hi,

looking to rewire my '75 CB550.  I am doing this as all the electronics have been relocated to the tail section.

I figure this has been done before and looking to see if anyone has the shopping list of wire, connectors, fuse block, sleeving, etc to make the harness.  I have seen a few of the wiring diagrams that are close -as I will have turn signals, horn, etc.

I have found sources for the 18awg stranded wire, connectors, etc but looking for the complete list.

thanks

What you need all depends on what you want to do with the bike. Full OEM features (clutch starter interlock, ect) Just a very basic turn signals, headlight, ignition and brake. Then find a wiring diagram that suits your needs. Next go to http://vintageconnections.com/ there you will find your bullet connectors and block connectors. Wire and sleeving, your on your own. Unless someone here has a specific recommendation.
It's almost twice as old as me, I don't know how the hell it works!
