This is on topic for tis site.

Last night on the tv show Fast and Loud they crushed a nice old Honda. There were many good parts on that bike that could have been used or you could have stripped the crap off the bike and had a nice little bike. What a shame.

Looks like it was a hot rodded 450 twin. To be honest someone already gave it the mega douchebag treatment before hand so....at least one more hipster won't have a "Cafe" project bike.

Honestly, have you actually watched that show? Gas monkey is a fitting title considering all the feceses they toss at the mindless viewer. Rawling's narcisisim is so great you can actually feel it ooze out of the screen. I acutally enjoy the parts where he loses money on cars because it makes me feel like there is still hope for good taste. I am sure he isn't nearly this exagerated in real life (going to find out this xmas on my next visit to dallas) but still - he is campaigning hard to be king of the douchebags.

Honestly it is a cross over with american chopper, highbrow and savy motorcycle TV it ain't.

I was also sad to see a good running old Honda crushed. But, in general I like watching the show. As, he does lose money about 75% of the time. And he took a nice hit from a 85 year old widow on a 1964 Continental convertable that made me laugh!

I enjoy the show. I find the two guys funny most of the time. Not sure why the word fast is in the title because they never seem to make cars fast. Low with Bog Wheels would be a better name for it. I also Asian interior lady, the seat Nazi. She rocks.

I like to buy things, fix them up and flip them so I guess the show appeals to me. With that said I never like to see any old vehicle destroyed. Although the Honda they crushed was pimped out it still had potential for being set back to right.

It was a CB450. It was on craigslist down here for months with no luck selling...

They are in over their heads with the big boys on the build off that is coming up. I'm sure I'll probably like their bike "style" the best, they
just don't have the big guns/tools the others (PJD, OCC, Jesse James) have.

I like the show as well. Actually one of my favorites right now. I like the fact too how he loses his ass on some of his work. This isn't his first time on tv either. he won the first cannon ball run on tv years back... May have been called something else.

Pretty sure it's a set up for loosing money. I haven't seen the show but it make sense to keep an audience glued.

I tried to watch FnL once. However I couldn't get over the compulsion to repeatedly punch Rawlins in the face and was afraid i was going to break my TV. He's too loud for my taste and the scriptedness of it p-sses me off.

my prediction on the bike build off is this:

F&N will make an old school hardtail chopper. It will most likely have either a HD Shovelhead or an HD Panhead motor in it. The rear tire will be a 150 or less and it would not surprise me to see a springer front end on it. It will have been a nice example of a chopper in 1976 but will not win the competition.

Jesse James will hand fabricate almost every piece of his bike. It will be the best example of how a chopper should be built and will likely be the only bike that you could actually ride. Well maybe you could ride the F&L bike too. It will be the one out of the four that you would actually want to own if you were going to own one of them. It will not win.

OCC will not go old school this time. Even though it is the Walrus' style of choice I believe he will try something different and allow Poule to design the bike. Poule will design something that is over the top with wild swings and tons of billet parts. It would be too over the top for most peoples tastes and will not have great paint. OCC has burnt through another painter and is down to someone that does OK work but not anything that would compete with Nub Graphics. The bike will be something that you would see out of Ness or Bourgette, both make nice bikes but far to busy for me.

PJD will build something that is intended to be a piece of art more than a chopper. the bike will be pretty and would make a nice piece in a museum or framed picture on a wall. My hunch is that PJD will miss the mark because they will focus more on the bike being for a charity than the bike being built for a chopper build off. When PJD focuses on the competition they build a bike that people will vote for. They could win this but they wont.

In an upset I believe that OCC will win this but wont have the nicest bike.

The bike that should win will be the JJ bike. The only bike that you could afford out of these will be the F&L bike.

That show cafe racer one time made me angry , some supposed builder took a beautiful almost mint CB750 and destroyed it to make a cafe racer. I'm not totally opposed to cafe racers, but if your going to show me what a builder you are , build one starting with parts out of the junk yard. You don't destroy a beautiful classic.

I liked the old biker build-off show, wish it was still on. I liked that they had to build the bike and then actually ride it a few hundred miles.

Jesse James had the best quote when talking about OCC and the Tuettles, "They aren't bike builders, they are cake decorators"

Jesse James is kind of a douche but he is a very talented bike builder. I like the fact that he can make things by hand and not everything is either bought or water jetted.

My favorite of the old bike build off guys was Billy Lane from Choppers Inc. I LOVED the stuff he built. To bad he got drunk and killed someone.

Another great builder from that show was Matt Hotch. He was the first guy I had ever seen add an air ride suspension to a bike. He builds bikes that are classic and clean with smooth lines.

I miss that show.

2nd that. Dont care what anyone "builds" but when you start destroying things its stupidity. Gears is a cool car/truck show as he always states save parts. If you dont need them a collector will.

Stacey David's 'Gears'? Love that show, just wish he would finish one project before moving on to a half a dozen others! Also, I hate that stupid little chuckle he throws in with just about anything he say's!

That stacy guy drives me crazy. I stopped watching that show when he cut a truck roof and put in a crappy sunroof. The fit was horrible and it became very apparent to me that it was a show about selling crap (literally) and not really about working on trucks/cars. Anyway, that seems to be the way most of them are any more so I dont really watch any of them.
