1976 CB400f Ignition Switch
« on: January 05, 2013, 12:43:50 AM »
Well had the bike back together some what and its running but coughing and splutering.  Quick check of the Voltage and it's not charging.  Quick wip around with the multimeter and it looks like there is a 3V drop between the battery and the voltage regulator, or for that matter anything running power from the 'Black' power cable.  I removed the ignition switch and replaced with a jumper and it seems to be charging, well 13.2 is better than 12.2 or below 12.  The connector looks a little dodgey and CO Cleaner is not making it much better, and the switch itself has lots of movement and the plastic is all cracking.  Looks like a new switch and hopefully an easy out for a charging fault.  Question or those in the know, what is the part number for the ignition connector on the wiring loom side?  There seems to be lots of switches available but there is not a lot of information on this connector.  any information would be appreciated.
