Some good, some not so much
« on: January 06, 2013, 06:33:22 PM »
I'm not crazy about selling on E-bay and prefer to deal stuff off here to guys that need it. As a Canuck living close to the NY state border, I almost always sell to guys in the US so send from there.

I like to agree on a price including shipping but sometimes find a better rate when I do ship so always offer to send the parts first then advise the buyer of the total cost. I try to be fair and have never been burned....until recently. I sent this guy a 650 seat hinge N/C first, he then asked for a set of carbs, sidecovers etc.  This was over a month ago and it appears he split with the loot!

It wasn't big money, but as members of this great forum I don't expect this. I hope you're happy seanc1983.

After nearly a month I was just a bit po'd tonight. I'm away from home where I have his full name and address. When I get back I'll try to find a phone #.

Maybe the Brimmer treatment can wait until I see how that goes......stand by!

Man, hate to hear this. That dude was too new to trust IMO. The only posts he made were in the hinge thread, which means he was probably only here scavenging for parts and had no interest in being a worthy member.  >:( >:(

Agreed. Both parties in the other thread we're pretty new.  Regardless I hate to hear of this isht happening.  We trust each other for info, and parts not readily available.  Sucks wham someone takes advantage....

Been a member here since Nov 2009. Wasn't until 2012 when I first made a purchase here. Got 3 341 pipes from member chewbacca 5000(Kyle) Transaction went smooth, no problems what so ever. Even refunded me some money when shipping was less than expected. Hate to here other members are being ripped off by who they think are honest and good members >:( >:( Just like anything in this day and time be very cautious with whom you have dealings with, and that goes for this forum to.

We all try to help each other out but there should be an understanding that the funds should be deposited into your Paypal acct before anything is shipped unless it's a favor. Buyer beware not forum member/seller beware.

Brent, maybe he's close to Colorado?!

Brimmer Posse may need to be activated.

ps in the SOHC4 dictionary Brimmer means:(n) stupid rip off douche bag that gets whats coming to him and (v) retribution for the (n) Brimmer

I trust a lot of guys here but i still put funds in before having parts sent or visa versa....  Sorry to hear Brent and Frank, time to start making noobs hang around for a while before they can sell or buy, actually, recently i just missed out on a part that someone else bought before me, the buyer had 1 post at the time, that pissed me off.....

We are a community here and as such, need some clearer rules to stop this crap happening and protect our own !!  Any thoughts..?

It wasn't until I suspected he wasn't going to pay that I realised he was new. Regardless we were all new at some point. Maybe I'm the fish for thinking we SOHC4 lot were above that sort of BS. Yes I should get the money in hand before sending anything out, it's just my part of being as fair as possible.

I'm sure we've all seen the underbelly of society, this lad is from Rogers Arkansas.

Perhaps if he came out and the carbs were missing he'd know he'd been Brimmered by SOHC4!

Sounds like a Breakfast job  ;D

Looks like he hasn't been on here since the 14th of December. Hopefully it's an extreme circumstance, but highly doubtful. Even then, there are ways to deal with these situations through multiple levels of communication.

I'm right next to Rogers, but doubtful I could really do much. I'm a wussface, so maybe I could T/P his house?

I already posted this in the Breakfast Club, but I'll put it here as well.

From his Facebook it looks like he is military, possibly Reserves, and on top of that still currently active there since the transaction. Maybe try contacting him through FB to settle up? Kinda hard to dodge someone there. Thank the Lloyd for social media.
