What would you pay for this bike?

Hello, so I put a cheap car up for sale recently with the option of trading and someone offered to trade a 1973 CB750K. I am wondering what is a good cash value or trade value for the bike. It runs well, 37k miles, cracked oil tank cover, the seat is horrid. My question is what would you give on trade for this machine?

$1000 for a runner in decent shape, if it has a title.

Varies by region. Here in MI, I could find a similar condition bike for $800.

In our local market here (Silicon Valley) the economy is not too bad these days, so somewhere between $1000 to $2000. 

In the eyes of a buyer who want to ride it, he's immediately out $100 to $200 for a seat.  Also, tires are hard to see in the picture, if it needs tires to be a rider, that's another $200 +/-. 

The mileage on it means
- valve adjustment check
- oil/filter change
- maybe new air filter, spark plugs, fuel tank flush

If the bike had not run in a while, and it turns over, the carbs will need to be pulled, disassembled and cleaned, especially pilot jets and passageways.


If the motor is stuck, all bets are off.  It takes a certain kind of fanatic, of which I am one, to buy a cb750 with a stuck motor.

In your case, I would not take the bike on trade if it has a stuck motor -- too hard to turn around and re-sell.

Thanks. Keep the opinions coming! It's a Colorado bike. I already own a CB750F that is going through an extensive restoration/cafe build. I paid $800 for it in a little better shape and I think the guy was expecting a bit less. I was thinking 500-600 in trade, I just don't want to lowball the girl.

With title, runs good. The girl has owned it for the last 8 years last rode it during the summer and it has been in winter storage since summer.

Looks like it spent a lot of time outdoors with the way the orange paint has faded back to the base color.These kinds of posts are really subjective as they seem to sell for all different prices.Probably anywhere from $500.00 to $900.00 would be a range around here it would move for fairly easily on CL for instance with the title etc.

Thanks for the input guys! I think I've decided that I may just pass on the trade, get cash for the car and put it towards finishing my Cafe build.
