New Old Guy
« on: January 24, 2013, 11:49:55 AM »
Hello to all.  While I'm new to this forum I'm not new to forums, bikes or the world.  I'll do my very best to play nice. ;)

I bought my first bike in 1966.  It was a 1963, 80 cc Yamaha YG1.  After one summer of having most everybody pass me I sold it and bought a 1940 Harley 80 cubic inch flat head.  I spent the winter restoring it with many NOS parts.  Then like a fool I chopped it the following winter.  It was then a bobber with a peanut tank twin, upswept megaphones and drag bars.  I sold that bike a year later and have wanted it back ever since.  My next bike was 1965 Triumph Bonnevile with hardtail and six inch extensions in the forks.  I do not miss that bike at all.  Now many years later I find myself with this 1978 Honda CB750K in need of restoration.  I have been buying parts and storing them away for the day I get started on the bike.  I'll post a picture of it someday soon.  It runs great and looks terrible.

Yea, it does run real good.  This is my first four cylinder and I love the smooth, strong pull.  I don't ride too far because I've never gotten a motorcycle license.  Long story.  And the bike is not licensed or insured.  Riding that way just adds to the thrill.  I guess I qualify as on old fool.

Look out this site could become addictive.  I have a K3 and right now the frigid weather is holding me back. Good luck with the new old toy.
