71 cb750 k1 rear turn signal help
« on: January 27, 2013, 02:52:33 PM »
I have a 71 cb750 and am wanting to remove the sissy bar the orig owner had installed.  Just not my style.  The bar he added has the signals hooked up to it so when I remove it I am going to have to track down the factory brackets that attach to the frame.  When looking on ebay I have seen two different style-one that has an arm that comes off and one that doesn't.  Are these still available from Honda? Just looking for some help.

All of the parts for the rear turn signals were still available from Honda the last time I bought some.If looking for used the actual black bracket and other parts were also used on early cb450 Hondas also of the same vintage.Be warned there are a couple different rubber bushings, metal collars etc. time 2 and those parts start to add up when bought new.

yes exactly. I know they are available here http://www.cmsnl.com/honda-cb750k1-four-usa_model14354/partslist/F28.html#results
but it starts adding up especially with shipping at the end. it is what it is though, unless someone can find it easier and cheaper, this is what I'll be going with for my K1

you need 15, 16, 17, 28, 29, and 30, all 2x. unless you found suitable bolts, washers and spacers elsewhere. I bought the brackets by themselves because I didnt really look at the parts diagram....at all. then when the brackets arrived I couldnt even put them on! haha. even though I have the brackets it looks like it will be $70 with shipping. the brackets add $63. it isn't cheap. check out jtmarks77 on ebay. he has the brackets and both rubber grommets available as a package deal. 2 brackets, 2 rectangle rubber grommets, and 2 circle rubber grommets. great deal, way cheaper than cms
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Honda-NOS-CB750-Signal-Stems-CB-750-450-CB450-CL450-33607-292-000B-/221172931887?_trksid=p5197.m1992&_trkparms=aid%3D111000%26algo%3DREC.CURRENT%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D14134%26meid%3D5181317253041542185%26pid%3D100015%26prg%3D1085%26rk%3D2%26sd%3D221172440660%26

so you still need the bolts, washers, and metal spacers, but this gets you the bulk of it for much cheaper!

If you want it real nice and stock looking don't forget the ground wires also. One end mounts to the actual signal mount bolt and routes up under the seat and plugs into the harness by the + wires  ;)
