Well, try as I may,
I just can't stay away....

Kirk has sick folks at home, and is kindof iffy himself at the moment.
Next weekend is vintage racing at the Talledega motorcylce track, www.tgprace.com/ and just might be a good venue for a handoff. The Old Fart's MC aka Dixie Classic Bike Club will be there both days, with hot dogs, etc. If anyone's interested, we could meet at Mt. Cheaha, and have a good ride to the track. Let me know.

TGPR - that takes me back. Ran that track a couple of times but it's changed much in the 12 years since I've been there. Watching the weather - looks like cold and wet is coming - wonderful. Gaskets arrive tomorrow afternoon.

Godzilla helped with the carb disassembly last night and monitored my shooting at the range today.

So, K3, you never tried the easy fix first and swapped the dyna back to points?
I hope you're not doing all this carb work to find out that is not the problem.
Did you check to see if all your pipes were hot and if not which ones are the cooler ones?
If it is truly only running on 2, it is almost certainly dyna or a coil.

I did swap back to the points and, no change. Exhausted the ignition related causes and pulled the carbs. #1 emulsion tube was almost completely out and #3 was on its way. While the gaskets come in, I'll go through them once more and solve that problem once and for all with my second set. Makes for a nice spread on the bench. The points are there to stay but I might go with Hondaman's black box in the future.

Requires disassembly to shorten the screw on the trigger - won't reset about once every 50 rounds. All kinds of parts coming today for the TV, the battery charger, and first and foremost, the carbs. It's nice for the wife that I'm useful (at least for the TV).

Carbs assembled and leak tested. Tank petcock pulled - hey - no screen! Putting it all back together and syncing tomorrow. Waiting for weather and a meet.

Chain & sprockets coming today for the red F. Weather doesn't look good for the weekend, might be able to make one day next week. Will talk to Kirk tomorrow. Keep in touch K3.

The old K4 has fresh carbs and a sync and goes like stink. Doesn't idle as well with these old, cheap points but she's good for a trip to Alabam. Next week!

True. We're obviously getting close to a hand-off as the weather is turning against us. I'll take the weekend to clean her up. It's been a long winter and we focused here on getting my son's old KZ up and running. I've got the gear for a cold trip so early next week looks promising.

Hey there Stev-o,

The plan was to meet Kirk, aka Kpier883, at the base of the Cheaha near Vincent with his CB-X. We were going to ride 25 together into Leeds and Barber.

My ride route really hasn't changed but if Kirk can't make it, the plan is always adjustable.

Kirk - chime in here. What's your status and with your family?
