CB77 kick start mechanisim
« on: February 20, 2013, 01:02:34 AM »
Hi there
I took side cover the engine to replace the clutch cable. When I wiggled the cover off I heard a "spring unwinding sound"(it may not have been but I thought it was).  What's the go with putting it back together.  Unfortunatly I took the kick start lever off first so I didn't see any movement in the kick starter cause it wasn't on there.
Thanks for your help.
Scott

The CB77 kicker goes forward. When you are ready to put the case-cover back on the motor, assemble the complete kick-start with tension on the circular spring.  When you begin to align the case cover with the motor, you will have to wind the kicker to the proper position when folded and slide the cover into place to engage the kicker gear.  Just be sure the spring is wound in the correct direction.

If you need more direction go to honda305 in the groups section on Yahoo.com or hondatwins.com
