That don't look anything like the Top Gas bike that Ed claimed to have.
The guy selling this one is named Jimmy and the zip code is not the same as Ed's and that's not Ed's email addy.

Sam,

Bring a bag of cash!

http://sell.dragbike.com/detail.asp?id=2703&n=original-russ-collins--famous-dual-engine-honda

No can do Jerry, I've just been looking at the cost of having my chassis modified and it could cost as much as $21,000.
I'm having an x-ray tomorrow to find out how much needs doing, I'm not sure whether to have Titanium or go the whole hog and have Carbon Fibre.  :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(

Sam. ;)
Sam, regarding the Carbon Fiber, there have been some negative comments about putting CF parts on a vintage chassis; some seem to feel that just isn't correct. ;) Hope things turn out well.

I've got a bit of titanium that pretends it's my elbow and some holding my pelvis together. lightweight and doesn't rust. haven't tried carbon fibre yet.

Couldn't explain yesterday as my puter gave up the ghost >:( I had to go to the hospital yesterday to have my back and more importantly my hip x-rayed,  might have to have a new hip and was wondering about Ti or CF. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
Got the new puter tonight but have to wait 10 days for the result of the X-ray. ;)

Sam. ;)

PS, this new puter if fantastic, much quicker 8) 8) 8) it uses  electricity instead of coal. ::)

Sam.........just get yourself fixed..........the sooner you do, the faster the remaining original parts will meld to the new parts.  Your lucky, the modern replacement parts are sooooooooooo much improved from the SS items they used on me in the '60s.  When the Docs removed the 18-inch rod in my left leg I could get through airport security without a personal search........and that was in the late '60s.  Very good wishes to a successful journey.

Sam, hip replacements are pretty straight-forward these days; my brother-in-law put his off for a couple of decades, then sort of kicked himself in the ass for not having it done sooner. My grandmother had one when she was around 100 years old! :o The docs were against doing the surgery at her advanced age, but she insisted; she wasn't ready to spend the rest of her life stuck in bed...

Yes Sam good luck, small potatoes as they say. I do suggest a modern exotic precious metal hip though, not some damned thirty year old joint from the past off e-bay!  ::)

Just a poor attempt at humour. ;)

It beggers belief how quick it can hit you though. I felt fine at Valdosta mid November and then the week before Christmas I couldn't get out of bed without hanging on to something. It was like I got very old very quickly. ;D ;D ;D ;D
