Honda Factory Engine Stand
« on: March 13, 2013, 06:49:34 PM »
I bought a Honda factory engine stand today. It came with a mount for a Wing ,CB175 CB350 and CB450.
Anyone ever seen or used one for the 750?

Here is my engine stand.
A furniture dolly and some garage door strapping from the local home center.
The TC brothers frame looks nice and I may buy that. I could add a wooden structure to the top of the dolly and attach the stand.
Would still like to see pics of the honda stand.

The C14 and the CB make a nice pair!

You need more "stuff" in that garage!

There was no "Factory " engine stand.

I was a dealer mechanic in those days.

But many people have made their own.
Honda only would send a factory tool box- Wood.
Valve seat cutting tool etc.,.

The mechanics did sweep and mop the floors every day.
I worked in two Honda dealerships during those years.
One was in Tucson,Ariz. and the other was in Corte Madera,CA.,.
We just took the engine out and put it up on the workbench to work on it.

That is my experience.

Nice stand.
Looks like Honda made adapters for everything up to the CBX.
The adapters will probably be hard to find but they could be fabed up.

Nice find!

Notice that advertisement says "American Honda".
They can do whatever they want.

Not so sure that means it wasn't "Factory". American Honda published lots of stuff that was "Factory" sourced - Service Bulletins, Service Tools, Setup Manuals, and such. Since that was published in 1980, one test might be to check the threads used on this stand. If they are American National Standard (ANS), more than likely made in US. If they are metric, who knows? The sticker on that adapter doesn't say "American Honda".

Bet there are some of those adapters still languishing around some older Honda dealer workshops buried  somewhere. Might be worth tossing a couple of e-mails around to some.
