Your all hung up on "hard cornering" Frank, i've stated a million times that i can scrape the pegs doing a u turn on these old Honda's , lowering them restricts them even more,  its also a safety issue , if you read my comments, the OP was going to put progressive springs in the front and lower the back, thats what i commented on, he has since changed what he said. I'm growing very tired of having this conversation mate....

Hey boys, play nice.  I can see you two have had a long and lustrous relationship and I suspect down deep you both respect each other quite a lot. Ken had already straighten me out on the progressives it just didn't show in the order I pasted correctly.  As I am already raising the rear with an 18" wheel and larger tire an inch lower taint much. Rear sets and no center stand, well I venture I could go lower than stock?  So come up with a good way for me to make some sort of headlight bracket for the brass bucket like the old ones I showed earlier.  If you look at the old brackets (not mine by the way) you can see how the brackets on the side of the light slide down onto the light holder brackets.  Some sort of clamping around the forks instead of ears seems in line. Oh yes, the dia. of the lens, or rind ID is about 9.5"  I'm still trying to find my link to the old ford reflectors but I thing the OD on those was 8".  I'll post a pic when I find it.

these are 9.25 but come as a set.  I just ordered a BA15d in a 12v 50w format curious to see if it puts out enough light.

Some 750 trees have 2 holes in the lower..like 77 and 78.. You can make studs, with threaded ends and mount them similar to early bikes.

my picture of my lester, picked up a gl1000 front end, mocked up my lester, appears to be the ticket. I don't have gl information. Ill go search but need amount of fork oil, what kind, weight?

BrandEn, great link thanks so much, that should take care of my fork issues when I get hot on the fork/brake rebuild. That goes in my link library. Now I have to find all the fork and brake parts.  And I thought boats were money pits!  Thanks again

Just an update, I have had some work this last week, As Manard G Kribs would say WorrrrrrrrrK! Anyway, finally scored a rear Lester, paid too much but at least I can move on with this. Disassembled the 77 GL1000 front end except the insides of the forks.  Both Caliper pistons were stuck, used grease gun to get one out and blew up the grease gun on the other.  Sent off the Rotors to Jeff Stephen's in Wisc. to drill and take off some weight.  Gonna try some of those funky pistons he makes, much lighter.  He gave me a tip use the master Cyl to get the piston out, duh, the things I know but have forgotten!  Worked like a charm, think I should send back the new air driven grease gun?  Ordered up a SuperBrace and all the seals, wipers and covers.  New EBC organic pads coming.  Received the X2-11 NEW CHROME FORK SEAL PROTECTORS from Willies Cycle, probably wont be able to use them with the brace. But they look great.  Started stripping down the gauge's, got LED's for the gauge lights and new face plates but opening up those cases looks daunting.  Had hoped to have my stuff back from Cycle X but not done yet.  Id been checking every week or so on progress but now have stopped calling and started praying instead. LOL  So now I'm on the great bearing chase for my Lester's.  Well back to WorrrrrrrrrK!!!!!!

Again, just an progress update.  Both my Lesters are here and will be removing tires tomorrow.  Still cannot make up my mind what which way to go with them.  I had wanted to Black out a lot of stuff, but doesn't most everyone do that?  I'm leaning towards Brass and Chrome.  I think often its easier to paint things black than get creative, hey that's just me the 600 lb gorilla in the room.  Anyway got the seals out of the forks, replacement parts are in. Got my drilled and lightened rotors back from Jeff they look great.  The new pistons are very light.  Ordered a new Nissan master cylinder as there was no stock gl one and the cb is undersized for the duel disc's.  I noticed that my swing arm doesn't have stock bushings in it?  Its a solid tube? I'm in buff mode on the front end parts now, grubby anal work but I think the results are worth it.  I'm pooped, long day, its 11:15. Hope you all had a good weekend. Bear out!

Hi Guys, been off site for awhile, life getting in the way.  Got some work for awhile, wife's closet hanger bars came down so made bullet proof hangers from 1/2" black pipe which I major anchored to the house. Not pretty but wont ever have to do that again.  Also in the middle of a 40' wood fence build. I have to get 7 2' deep post wholes done in very rocky ground so I cant use a gas auger. Have to do it by hand, got 3 dug and set, 1 other dug but not set.  Pain in the arse.  I'm too old for this but somebody has to do it.

Back to the fun stuff, got a lot of my cycle x stuff in will have pictures later, also decided on a tail light.  Its after market for something like a newer 2007-2012 CBR600RR?.  Its led and has sequential turn signals built in.  Its a bit long for my Razor back seat so will likely French it into the rear about 3 Inches.  Got a lot of my parts buffed out by the 11th.  Tires finally on the way from the Old Bike Barn, Great people over there and good prices.

Ok clever one, tell me why they are a good choice ?, Yeah, i know, they LOOK good  ::) . I don't get people putting cheap sh1t tires on a bike that will increase your chance of having a spill, I am very serious about suspension and tires on bikes, i like mine to stay upright, so  far as spinning a bit slower, go off and learn something by reading some facts.  Sounds like you are one of those people that are offended by people that know more than you....  HIPO Engine work, lesters, cafe and sh1t tires , sounds like a great combination to me....

And really, i don't give a fcuk what you do, i started out giving you some good info about shocks and suspension, now i'm telling you, those tires are for looks, they track badly {follow lines in the road}, have a shocking shape giving the feeling of falling into corners and they let go without warning, they are also deadly in the wet...  To me, you seem like a noob with no idea .... Have a nice day....

Finally, Got the new plate.  Two days and 4 trips to the DMV. OUCH! Got notice that the plate was in, went down with paperwork but DMV would not assign to bike as it was non-op so I said fine lets op it and bring the registration current so I can get the new plate. NOPE cannot du without having insurance.  Ok Fine went home signed up for insurance.  Came back the next day, wait got another fellow who says well yes you have insurance but there is nothing in this policy I got offline to indicate what it was for.  Ok fine, get name and fax # of fellow, go outside call insurance company, now Im sitting in an un air conditioned car, too noisy for the cell phone wait through 3 people, get it all straightened out, go back in. Ok Fine but must pay a $14 fee as well, ok fine, nope cannot take it here have to go next door to an insurance firm and have them take the money???? Ok Fine went next door, they understood no problem we will just bring it up on the old computer, go to DMV site, nope DMV site says it is not needed no $14 fee required. So take it all back to DMC fellow confers with two supervisors who say have to mail it all in!  Hmmmm???? Ok fine. Mind you every time I have to go to the window I have to wait upwards an hour or more.  So off I go home bewildered as can be.  Read up on the three different methods and decided to Call the powers to be.  Reached central call center in Fresno, lady says what I and the insurance guy know, don't need the $14 deal, just pay the $81 regs. fees, give them the proof of insurance and the old plate!  Said I tried but no go.  She goes to super, super calls other super in the DMV branch, puts in the fix!  Go back to branch, get it almost complete, have plate in hand when this knucklehead reads the fine print on the proof of insurance and the Vin # reads CM750xxxxxxx instead of CB750xxxxxxx, typo?  Told the guy to man up and get this settled, he looked around and whispered-oops missed it, see ya- poof Im gone.  Anyway I have a new Avatar, so you wont have to look at my lovely face anymore.
