i have no idea what is involved in this big lizard ride. But, I see WV and western Virginia have nothing. I live near the WV line in south western Virginia. I may be able to do something. Blame Prokop...

The general plan is to recieve Godzilla from the general direction of Kansas and deliver to team #6 - NY and New England.  The plans are usually made few weeks ahead, people have to free their weekends and whatnot and sometimes the weather does not cooperate.

He stayed with me last year for few weeks, because we did not have connection to NC.  There are pins and T Shirts this year and GZ carries a riders log, which is quite interesting reading.

I have vacation plans for the first half of July, but I dont think GZ will get here before August.

I will keep this thread updated to the best of my abilities.

Welcome aboard!

Well thanks for the welcome aboard, I hope this doesn't lead to being tossed overboard like my last boat ride. ;)
Will be fun to have Tracey read me the Godzilla log. Does Godzilla eat much? We can toss him a few scraps if so.

Looking forward to it!!

Do you guys have someone to meet up with KS? Team 4 is beginning to work on routing but too early to work on dates. Who's in MO? We/you have an eastern NB rider that we could consider if willing to ride to eastern KS then proceed eastward perhaps??

So I've decided to wait until the winter to rebuild my motor and am currently putting everything back together.  As long as I don't break anything, my bike should be up and running this weekend, which means that I should be in.

I'm really close to Kickstart though, and I don't want to steal his thunder.  If there is room for me, I'd love to be involved.  I rode a short ways on the first rally on the way to New York.  If timing is right and the family/wife don't get in the way, I'd like to do a little more on this one.

GZ is about getting together  and to ride together with the lizzard is quite common.

I'm in central MO, and am most likely in, depending on when GZ arrives/passes through.

Excellent!... you're not stealing anyone's thunder... the more vintage bikes we have, the cooler we look!

Does anyone have a problem with me trying to contact the "chin on the tank" guys to see if anyone is interested?  They are a vintage bike club here in Philly.  I've never actually met any of them and don't think they are all SOHC guys, but it could make for a cool group event.

I'm in STL and am also most likely in depending on timing and distance.

I'm hoping to have my bike back together in a week or two and tuned up enough to run it.

That sounds like a great idea. I like their site and style.

Also, anyone in the area planning on going to this event?

Go for it!

I did a ride with them last year (the babe on the back beach ride) - I thought they were a really nice group of kids.  Kind of a mix of bikes... I'd say 50% were vintage bikes.
I've also done one Thursday night ride with them late last summer - but that was more a tearing-up the streets of Philly type of ride (I think it was more of the hard-core subset of the group).
I was thinking about doing another Thursday ride again now the weather is getting nice.

Also, we may want to get these guys involved, I've never gone to any of their meetings/events, but I always wanted to:
http://philadelphiariders.com/
I think they're more into European bikes, but they do have some guys into vintage japanees bikes.  In fact this upcoming Tuesday night meeting is Japanese bike night:
"May 21st - Japanese Bike Night...with a lecture on "The Japanese Motorcycle Invasion in the US given by Armand Ensanian"
Hmmm... I think I might go to that

Well GZ and I had a good time touring all points of NJ in 2011.  He was a little mischievous with my Labrador however :o.  Perhaps they can get along a bit better next time give the chance.  I will be out on the left coast for a bit in early September, but otherwise I could be in for some more riding with the bad lizard.  If anyone wants to make a stopover to the NJ shore(directly east of Philly-08721), I have plenty of room and a garage for bikes.
