Forks by Frank vs. CycleX
« on: April 24, 2013, 02:43:14 PM »
Hi,

Quick question, wondering if anything has changes since previous posts about this.  I have a 1971 CB 500F.  The CycleX forks for $160 a pair are not in fact the stock length correct?  I just ordered from Franks and it seems the price went up to about $260 plus shipping and would just like to make sure I did that with good reason behind it.

You may want to call franks. I thought their rate was 299 for the 750 stock lengths.  I have a set of my 750 and love them.

Just got off the phone with them and put in my order before.  For the CB500 she said either $260 or $269, Im not sure,  plus $25 shipping to NY.  Just curious to see if anyone has used the CycleX forks as they are a tad cheaper now that franks prices have gone up a little bit.

I have CycleX tubes on my 750 and have had no problems.  Measure your forks and be sure to order the length you want.

Hi Steve,

Apparently the problem was with cb500/550's sizes.  The threads about it are getting a little dated so I wanted to see if there were any new updates.

FYI / Update:

Frank's CB550 fork tubes are made to order at $309/pair.

CycleX CB550 fork tubes are $150/pair and I'm on a waiting list, that should only last a few weeks.  Based on the reviews above, though somewhat dated, it was an easy decision to go with CycleX.
