Hi everybody, I have been lurking the past year on everybodys builds and have learned a lot. I have kinda lost steam in my build, so I thought if I start documenting my build, it might get me going again. Here is a pic of when I first bought it. I bought it for $800 and barely ran. The gas tank was full of rust. So hopefully I will keep the pics coming along as I make progress.

Question:
What the HECK does the tire in the background in the first pic go to?

The 37" tire goes to my 71 Bronco, which gets most of my time.

The Dunstall tank and Vincent tail go well together.  Great lines.

Let us know how the fiberglass tank holds up with Ethanol mixed fuel or are you going with non-ethanol and/or race gas?  I've heard that Ethanol-mixed fuels cause fiberglass to degenerate.

I plan on using ethanol mixed fuel. I am hoping the coating Carpy has inside of the tank will hold up. I will let you know once I get it running again.

The only work I got done this weekend was use the plasma to cut out a small plate that fits into the rear tube I have bent up for under the tailpiece.

Well not much done this weekend, was out of town all week, and felt pretty lazy. Can someone tell me what the tab is in the attached picture. I cannot remember what is mounted to it. It is surrounded by a red rectangle in the picture.

So, I have had a vacation on the resto-mod, looks like about 2 years and 5 months. I just had a buddy paint the tank and tailpiece and turned out really nice. Hopefully I will finish by this fall sometime.

I also re-coated the inside of the tank with Caswell epoxy coating and added the new petcock. That was a pain in the butt. The instructions say to insert drywall screws into the tank to roughen up the surface with dawn detergent and water. Well, when its time to remove the screws, it took me about 2 hours to get them out of Carpy's fiberglass tank. I could not remove the gas cap assembly without damage, which I did some anyways. I had to shake it just right to get them out. I also tried using an extended magnet but did not work well either. I will never purchase a fiberglass tank again.

Nice job on the paint...on the tank/seat and on the frame.  I like that frame color, you don't see many painted that color.
