1977 cb750k project, what to do with it?
« on: May 15, 2013, 05:20:02 pm »
Just sold my cafe racer this spring, wasn't really looking for a new project but this was too good to pass up. Picked up this '77 cb750k for just $300 with title. Miles are kind of high, 40,000, but it looks complete and somewhat well maintained.

I did a cafe already, might do another though in a different (cheaper) style. Otherwise brat style? Bobber? or CycleX trike? My wife is voting for the trike. What do you guys think?

I'm voting for the cycleX trike...but you should use some mini ape bars  and you gotta keep that seat!  Maybe have it recovered, but keep it just the same, because I understand the cycleX trike can be a little  brutal to ride for any extended distances.
intrigued by the wail...seduced by the scream.

Replace the seat, ride for the season, figure out the rest during the Winter.

Lol, yea recovering the seat is not going to happen. When i was strapping it down on the trailer the seller told me i should probably strap the seat down to make sure i don't lose it while on the highway, i smiled and said "I think I'll leave it as is".

Seriously though I'm leaning towards the trike. CycleX shop is only like 45 minutes north of me. I've seen his finished trikes in person and they look awesome fun. Most everything in WI is Harleys including the trikes so this would really stand out.

First off, trash that seat!   Then clean the carbs and attempt a start up and see how it runs.
