Ebay changes?
« on: May 26, 2013, 05:12:06 AM »
Hi All,'
just had a listing pulled for listing policy violation:
ie, I said fame comes with title.

Guess you can't mention you are selling a frame with a TITLE anymore.
When did this happen? I have been away from ebay for a while and
did not get the memo.  >:(

I can understand why though as a while back
several buyers asked me to sell them a  CB750K title with just the stamped stem VIN # attached.
That sounded like someone with a stolen bike wanting to legalize it, so I said NO!

Also, it seems ebay is soon not going to allow you to self-host pictures.
Could be because people can check the picture element and look at
all the stuff you have for sale on your remote server?
I'm just asking here.

I wonder what other surprises are in store..... >:(

peace,
michel

Same thing that happens to most big corporations when they choose to push aside the people who helped make them who they are in favor of bigger clients with more volume and more money.  I gave up on ebay a few years ago after getting screwed over by a seller and getting no help from ebay/paypal, plus the change where buyers can only get positive feedback.  They've been making changes for years that make things harder for small-time sellers.

eBay will allow it to be listed as a "frame with ownership papers"

Funny how that was NOT mentioned in the ebay delete of my listing email,
but other warnings were!

Yeah, since Bezos? the original owner passed over control to others,
the service and respect that  us small time sellers felt has passed .

Jeff Bezos started Amazon - NOT eBay. Now worth $23.2 Billion as of 2012.

Pierre Omidyar started eBay. Worth $8.7 Billion as of March, 2013.

I think their objection was with the claim that by purchasing your SOHC4 frame the buyer would gain fame and notoriety. While we all know there's truth in this, it's difficult to convince eBay moderators of that.

Opps,. my bad. I should have looked that up, but only been sleeping 2-4 interrupted for past
2.5 months and "linear thought processes" are not optimized right now. :-)
