Gas Tank!!!

The very first picture shows a red TANK with a flip lid . Can someone give me an idea what year of that tank and the years it will fit!!

I have a tank just like that I got from Bill Benton and he said it was a 75k. It's going on my 74.

what side is the petcock on? 74 and below is on the left, after that it switched to the right.  Do you mean if it will fit a 750 or 550?  If so, 750 is my guess.

Color looks like 1976 Antares Red for the 750.Another similar red was made in 75 called Flake Apricot Red but a little different shade.

The paint is a little faded. originally I think the color was closer to a GARNET RED color.

You have it backwards. 74 & below on the right....75 & above on the left. I have a 75K but I'm running a 74 tank. All of the K tanks to 76 will work with all of the 76 and down K bikes. F models and 77-78 K's are different.

you can run K0-K6 tanks on K7 K8 tanks here is one on my 78- Best PETCOCK design ever!

I have the same tank (with indents installed for clubmans) on my 75' 400F.
1975 CB400F (First bike - learning lots)

- Podded
- Dyna S ignition
- Yoshima Exhaust
- bored to 473cc or 466cc... or something. Maybe someone can correct me
- #82 mains, #42 pilots

Yes . It's still for sale but I have been contacted by a forum member through the for sale section saying he wants it. I will PM him to find out positively and try to verify he wants it. I'll get back to you soon.
