Hey everyone, I started research on a bike to fix up late last year and since I currently own a 2007 Honda cbr600rr, I decided to keep the next one in the family. I came across this site and just began reading. I have never repaired a motorcycle but have worked a bit with cars and know my way around tools and such. It was the wealth of knowledge on this website and the community here that really convinced me that I could rebuild a slightly impaired old cb.
So thanks.... because, I recently bought a 1977 cb750F. Has about 9500 miles but has been sitting in a garage for over 20 years... When loading it on the trailer instinct kicked in and the brakes were pressed. Knowing from what I have read here that wasn't too good of an idea. Also the bike wouldn't start, but it would kick over. Guy that sold it to me said that he had it checked out and that to make it run I would need to rebuild the carbs. Think its plausible for a newbie just trying to repair and keep a cb, a cb.
So again thanks guys and gals for the nudge.
Pics to come soon.
