Keihin Carb part #and jetting question
« on: June 15, 2013, 08:08:32 AM »
I have an '80 CB650c trying to find new jets to run with pod filters but don't want to order until I know I'll find parts that will fit. Found jet size info here http://www.chinonthetank.com/2010/08/cb650-pod-filters/ and on the infamous "rusty knuckles" bike. Jets need to be #120 main and #42 slow. Confirmed this on a few other sites with links to suppliers. Problem is I can't verify the part # on my carbs. They are Keihins stamped 50BARG with a box around the "A". Is this the part # b/c it doesn't match any on the parts look-up on J&P, Sirius Consolidated, or jetsrus websites. Also, sirius con is located in Ontario, nothing against Canada but don't want to pay international shipping.

Anyone with experience replacing these jets? If so, where did you buy yours and what kind of problems am I going to find pulling/ replacing the slow jets? They are pressed in.

Lastly, I need to replace the rubber tubes that complete the manifold to carb connections but am having a hell of a time finding those too. I'm not even sure of the part name.

Its my understanding that the pressed in slow jets you just grab ahold with some small vise grips or the like and pull them out.

Carb boots, look on ebay other than that I don't know either.

I too own a 80 650c, thinking about pods myself. Hope all goes well for you.

Google the stamped number and it will give you the specs.

Sirius is in Canada but they have a flat rate US shipping that is honestly cheaper than most places here domestic!
