Push throttle keeps overthrowing
« on: July 03, 2013, 08:00:52 PM »
Having issues with my phush throttle cable. Every once in a while after a good snap it will disconnect itself from the carb. Any thoughts?  ???

The spring is not working the way it should. Either wrong spring or the shaft is binding or the correct spring is not hooked up correctly. Or the cable is sticking in it's sheath.

You should be able to adjust the cable set so there is no slack for them to be able to come out. If you tighten the pull cable it will bring the throttle grip around a little and lessen the slack on the push cable . You can get the slack in both cables to a minimum. Watch them as you twist it.

Sounds dumb but you did snug it real tight right? On my cheapie motion pro cables I had to take two washers and cut them in half to be able to get some extra tightness for the push cable. I didn't have enough adjustment with how they were hence the washers. Allowed me to tighten the push enough to be able to get some overtravel and not be super sloppy
