I am trying to talk him into flattening the frame a bit. We cut a lot of the flange off, about 1/8 clearance...carb/manifold, has to be slid in sideways, then bolted up.

Are the manifold screws in a square pattern? If so you could turn the manifold by 90° hand have the carb angled either to the left or to the right.

It works and should run without aircleaner
Undo the 4 bolts and slide it in or out sideways.. We probably took up to 11mm off the bellmouth in some places..
