i need a question answer before i re assemble my carbs,my float seat is spring loaded on one end,is the spring loaded end  rest against the float or does the solid end?

That is not the float seat.
That is the float needle.
The float needle rests in the float seat. Just like a valve and valve seat. Same thing.
The pointed end of the float needle goes downwards into the hole of the seat.
It is a pointed cone in a matching hole. See what I mean?

The tapered end goes in the seat the spring loaded end is the float side

my mistake looking at my manual it says float valve set,anyway thats how i thought it went and is probabaly why setting float height is a #$%*,each spring end probably has a  different resistance even though you angle the carbs when setting the 26mm height

how about stock setting on jet needle,middle i would expect
