Ah, but does 2 rights make one wrong?

Here's one of many threads on the subject.

Dream 750: I found the thread with a copy of the manual pages in it, but the poster had broken the link and it was no longer available. But simply downloading the K7/K8 manual would give what you seek. However, I would just stick with the static method.

My only point is that the dynamic instructions do exist. And for many owners, that's all they've ever seen.

Your reply and point is well taken. ;)

My point is: Honda never published dynamic instructions for the K0 to K6 bikes.

"My point is: Honda never published dynamic instructions for the K0 to K6 bikes. "

I think that is true. Which is why I suggest sticking with the static method.

Wow lots of debate here over which method is acceptable. I hope you all can see why Ive tried both.

Well, good news! I have , for the fourth time, done the static cam tension adjustment and finally the noise is gone.

I dont think that was my problem however. When making the adjusrment last time I noticed some wear on the underside of one of the tappet covers from #1 cylinder. Looks like the rocker arm was contacting it. Maybe I had it done up too tight? Is it that tight a fit between the tappet cover and tappet?

Either way, thanks for all of the input. I think I will stick with the static method as it just seems safer and really is minimally more work. Now if that rain would just quit...
