CB650 carb synch screws
« on: August 14, 2013, 05:41:20 am »
Anyone have any secrets as to how I'm supposed to access the carb synch screws on an '82 CB650 engine with the CV carbs while the engine is running and  the vacuum gauges are hooked up?!  ::)

I managed to break the set screws loose on #1 and #4. I guess I'm going to have to synch them, remove the hoses and barbs, and then very carefully tighten the set screws. I just don't see how I'm supposed to work in that area.

They are a b!tch to get at, but the best thing I have come up with is back off the lock nuts, adjust then carefully tighten the nuts trying to not move the screws ;D

Won't this satisfy your needs?

'Then' and 'than' are completely different words and have completely different meanings. Same with 'of' and 'have'. Set and sit. There, their and they're. Draw and drawer. Could care less/couldn't care less. Bought/brought FFS.

And that would be.....? Why do you think I asked?

I did like Trueblue suggested and adjusted #1 and #4. I don't see how you'd get to #3 no matter what tool you have. The linkage, throttle cable and fuel line are all in the way, as well as the backbone of the bike (at least on my CB500, anyway).

I know that #3 is still out a little bit, but this is the best I could do. It already made a big difference in how the engine sounds and runs.
