automotive headlight renewal
« on: August 18, 2013, 05:26:17 PM »
I drive a ten year old Lexus and a 17 year old BMW.  I recently went to Sams and bought tires for the Lexus and they had a headlight renewal system with a 5 year warranty.  The clouded headlights looked like new and it only cost $29.99.  It makes the car look new again.  Well worth the cost and it has a long guarantee. looks new.

I've been using car finish polish with a buffing pad on clouded plastic headlight covers and motorcycle windscreens for years, and it works really well.  Is the stuff you got more than just a polish?

There are some polishes that are made for plastics. Very fine with lubricants, not all that much different than some of the car finish polishes.

For $30 not a bad deal! Most places will charge upwards of $100.

Most polish kits start out at 20.00 then you have labor. That's a good deal. Meguires sells a plastic polish that is very good I used it on my old eyeglasses and they where like brand new.

Not sure how good it works but on a episode of Wheeler Dealers they used plain toothpaste.

Shinned right up.
