So for right now, Pimpzilla is perched on the handlebar riding with me back and forth to work.  He is going to get tired of that real fast.  Who's next?  What would you like to do?  I'm flexible as to what direction to head, but am confined to riding on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday for the next few weeks.

Greg, I'm available to travel toward you for a one-day hand-off like we had planned last year, but that would put GZ in the Bay Area California, bypassing the PNW proper.  Are there are interested riders up there?  If not, let me know if a Saturday works for you, either this coming (Sept 6) or next (Sept 13).

Dave - I haven't had any response from anyone in the PNW. I don't know if any of them are watching this thread. What did you have in mind? How far can you ride?

My ride to Nevada and back that I had planned several weeks ago was delayed due to a ruined tire (the Friday before) and the earthquake in Napa (that same weekend), so I'm going this Saturday (Sept 6) instead.  My route will be along I-80 as far as Wells, NV where I'll turn around.  Here is a list of towns and times, let me know which one works best for you, I'll be on a rather tight schedule (1000+ miles in 18 hours) so I'm hoping to stick to the plan I have for this ride.  I'm figuring on 45 minutes for lunch somewhere in Wells, NV, the other stops will only be about 15 minutes or so.  If I make better time than expected, those times may move up, but I won't know for sure until I'm on my way.  I'll be riding my BMW R1100RSL, so check with his majesty GZ to make sure he doesn't mind riding on a bike made on the other side of the planet.  :)

Lunch Stop - 11:00 - Wells, NV
GZ Pickup? - 14:30 - Winnemucca, NV
Gas & Rest - 15:00 - Imlay, NV
GZ Pickup? - 16:40 - Fernley, NV

What a (?$&@3/: rally, no reflection on all who did get to participate.  Maybe it's time to retire PZ, did't work out well this year, IMO.  Seems like he traveled by box and on non SOHCs at least as much as Hondas, couldn't have been more than 25 riders?  if it wasn't for Team Great Lakes....Let's give it a rest and then do some central or quarter continent gatherings in the future.  Rant over, still miffed he didn't get up here.  :(

Not much time to stop and smell the roses on that trip, Dave.  I think I'll pass on that.  Hitting 15 or even 45 minute windows on a ride 300-400 miles one way seems more like work than fun.  Besides, I was just down that way last week and if I am going to spend a couple of days and 60-70 bucks on gas, and put 6 to 8 hundred plus miles on the bike, I'd rather do something different than what I have just done.  Since this is supposed to be a SOHC4 Honda thing, I'll keep trying to see if I can find someone in the northwest. I have a couple of possibilities. Thanks for the offer though.  Have a great ride.

I hear you, Brooze.  How many SOHC4 riders in your neck of the woods?  If I don't get any takers in the PNW, would it be worthwhile to send it to you so you can do something like the Great Lakes team did?  If so, let me know.  If I didn't have to work for a living I'd bring it up to you. ;)

No problem Greg, I totally understand, picking up GZ on Saturday would have been out of convenience, I would much rather see him travel farther into the PWN and then south again where I could give him a ride on my CB550 instead.  If no one from the PWN speaks up, and GZ ends up in a box for shipment, I like the idea of sending him to brooze in Ontario, sounds like lots of folks were skipped this year, so it seems fair to give those who want a turn a chance, lots of nice riding weather left in the year, maybe Northern California will still get an opportunity later on.

Thanks for the offer Greg, would love to meet up with ya.  You hit the nail on the head though, few or no riders willing to commit, I too had limited time to catch up with TGL and PZ. Think it was only Operator, Larecords & me who offered & we're all many miles apart.  If you shipped him up here, we'd probably have to wait until '15 to get him going again. That's why I think it's time for a format change or a hiatus.  My 0.02, good luck in moving him on.

I think Prokop was hoping to bring him down to Barber in two weeks (not sure if his build is complete though).  Any chance we can get him to VA?

Sorry I haven't been too involved this year... I had been meaning to help coordinate but have just been swamped this summer.

I'm going to Barber but flying from idaho. I could coordinate an actual handoff by SOHC with Ofreen and he can fly down with the mrs and I. Better than a brown box in my opinion.

The trip to Barber sounds like the best offer so far! How many SOHC members are going to attend?

I am taking the K0 to Barber, would be great to take PZ down there - any chance of shipping Mr.Lizzard to me?  He would get at least some (700 or so) miles on SOHC4.

I am planning to ride the Tail of Dragon going South, wouldn't it be great for PZ to meet his cousin?  ;D

Not until Oct 10th. I am out of the country through this weekend anyhow. If this does pan out I could meet you in mtn home or something. Just about any day of the week after the 29th. Or we can come up with another plan in a PM.

I am afraid you have a point  :)

Here is a question:  Should I be expecting PZ by USPS?  I might arrange my affairs and leave on the 8th in the morning to have more time to travel to Barber and enjoy the Tail.  But if PZ is coming my way, I don't want him to miss the ride.
