Reviving a garaged CB750 after 16 months
« on: August 20, 2013, 03:28:56 PM »
I haven't started my CB750 in 16 months. Ran well before that. I believe I ran the gas out of the carbs as well before I garaged it.

What tips do you have to get her started again? Do i need to take the carbs completely off and deep clean?

No need to remove carbs just yet, especially since you drained them.

Charge battery or replace if old. Remove spark plugs and clean or replace. Remove air filter and clean or replace. Oil change and oil filter change. I dropped the float bowls and cleaned out sediment. Fresh gas. Give it a try.

I revived my CB750 K5 stored in a garage for 10 years, and this is all I did. Later, I replaced fork oil.

Good luck!

It wasn't hard on mine. Mine was sitting for three and a half years. So I removed carb assembly, took the tops off, Sprayed them down with carb cleaner. Reinstalled. new oil, new filter, new battery. I filled it up with Premium fuel mixed with a bit of seafoam. She started and ran like a raped ape.

Still doing more oil changes to flush the system. Im already on my third oil change in 300 miles. Going to ride another 200 and do my last oil change and get back on the factory scheduled service schedule.
I do tasks the most difficult way. My life is interesting.
