OIL LIGHT 75 HONDA CB550 FOUR

Hi I ran my bike low on oil not knowing and the light warned me so I topped it off and now the light comes on anything below 2,000 rpm...any info would be much appreciated..

No its easy. It just unscrews out of the case. PM me if you need one

No not hard at all. I'm not sure about the the 1975 but I'll assume it's placed in a similar location on top of the oil pump under the sprocket cover. When mine went bad though it tripped at high engine temps and high revs, when the oil was thinned. I believe the light would stay on once the sensor is blown completely.

I'm wondering if your oil pump is going, due to not pumping well enough at low RPM but pumping well enough at higher RPM. Please wait to get other opinions on that diagnosis.

You could take the switch out and check the little hole. It maybe is getting plugged. Worth a look see.

You can open the pump but the internal o-rings are hard to source so keep that in mind. If you do try to find new rubber make sure that all dimensions, particularly the cross-section is exact.
