Oil seal on 350f blowing out after rebuild
« on: September 22, 2013, 01:40:26 PM »
There's an oil plug behind the front sprocket that is getting pushed out by oil pressure. I made sure to index the seal with the nub but the new seal is quite flimsy compared the the original. Should I try another seal or did I plug something up that shouldn't be when I put the cases back together? Here's a picture of the seal in question.

Make sure your breather is not clogged.  I had a similar problem with a 350 twin-the problem was I had not inserted the seal far enough...Larry

I just compared the two seals, it appears that the OE seal is a metal core coated in runner whereas the replacement one is just rubber. The old one wasn't damaged or leaking so I think I'm going to reuse it. Just need to figure out how to install it without pulling the motor an splitting the cases
