Seat pans, are there any that interchange?
« on: September 23, 2013, 05:58:38 PM »
Just brought home a '76 550, very excited.  The seat is the king and queen...hate it.  It is recovered with black leather sides and a beige leather top, rivets..nice work.  Don't want it.  Searching for the "stock" seat look.  I have been searching the forum, have not come u with anything.  Thanks for any help.  Need to know what will fit for my E-bay search etc.

Check David Silver Spares. They are in Pa. and England.

As far as actual seat pans your King and Queen seat probably still has the actual stock pan. Most 750 kq seats I have got over the years used the stock pan with the new foam and cover over the top.Good luck on your seat hunt.

Thanks guys.  It seems that a 550 74-78 is the same, but looks like the pans are specific to the CC's, but not sure.  I may just shave down the foam with the electric knife and get a seat cover.

Is your bike an F or a K? It makes a difference. I learned this the hard way. :(

Post some pics of the seat. If the pan is stock, there are some sellers on ebay who sell foam and cover kits for the bikes.

You could get a cheap cover off of ebay, I have used them with success. Shave the foam down and go for it.

Also post in the wanted section of the classifieds. A certain amount of guys on this forum don't bother with this board in particular so you are probably missing out on parts.
